Whether you’re expecting your first child or expanding your family, Center for Family Medicine will be with you every step of the way. At CFM, your pregnancy care is handled by a dedicated doctor who takes the time to explain the entire process and provides a clear, detailed schedule of care tailored to your needs.
Frequency of Visits
- In the early stages of pregnancy: typically once a month.
- Starting about 8–10 weeks before your due date: visits generally increase to once per week until delivery.
- Need to reschedule or have an emergency? CFM offers flexibility to accommodate.
What Happens at Each Visit
During routine prenatal checkups, we will:
- Monitor your weight and blood pressure.
- Collect a urine sample for screening.
- Measure the size of your uterus to track growth.
- Listen to your baby’s heartbeat.
- As needed, perform vaginal examinations (typically later in pregnancy).
Continuity of Care — One Doctor Throughout
When you begin maternity care at CFM, you will be assigned a primary care physician who, schedule allowing, will remain your main provider throughout your pregnancy — including until delivery. This continuity means you receive consistent, personalized care from a provider who knows your history, concerns, and preferences.
Affordability & Insurance
We understand that cost matters. Our billing office will work with you and your insurance plan to find a payment arrangement that fits your situation. We accept most insurance plans — including Medicaid. Please note: any outside labs or tests performed at other facilities are billed separately by those facilities.
