Maternity Care
Expect the best Maternity care
Whether you’re a first time mom or are growing your family, Center for Family Medicine will be by your side every baby step of the way. Your dedicated CFM doctor takes the time to explain the entire process and provide you a detailed schedule of care.
How often should I come in for a checkup?
Generally, pregnant women should be seen on a monthly basis until eight to ten weeks prior to the due date. At that point, the frequency will increase to being seen on a weekly basis until you deliver. At CFM, we have a great deal of flexibility when it comes to emergency visits or the need to reschedule an appointment.
What happens during the regular checkups?
We will check your weight, blood pressure and urine sample each time. In addition, we’ll measure the size of your uterus and check the fetal heartbeat. The doctor may additionally perform a vaginal exam as needed during some visits.
Can I see the same doctor throughout my pregnancy?
Yes, you will have one primary care physician assigned to you throughout. As schedules allow, you will see this doctor through to delivery.
How can I afford this?
Our billing office is ready to explain your options for payment. We’ll work with you and your insurance plan to figure out a payment plan that works for you. Any outside labs or testing at other facilities are billed separately by the facility. We’re ready with any questions you may have regarding payment.
